How many of you have been told that you have lost out on Salvation?
We believed at one time that our Salvation was dependent on what church or organization we belonged to.
This was a fallacy of the church Era’s theory. Men in our former affiliation took upon themselves the authority of Jesus Christ. We believed once an individual was disfellowshipped or marked that he/she was lost. They lost out on their only chance for Salvation. Is this what the Bible says?
John 4:42 and 2Tim 1:10 says Jesus Christ and He only is our Savior. Let's now turn in our Bibles and read Acts 4:10-12; Hebrews 2:9-10. These verses clearly show that only Jesus Christ and no other can save you or I. No man, No church, No organization.
When You tell someone that a person has lost out on Salvation. You now are judging that person’s Spiritual growth and their Spiritual character. Romans 2:1-4; 2Tim 4:1
Jesus Christ is our judge not man Romans 14:10. Jesus and only He can judge us on our Salvation and Spiritual growth.
What makes it impossible for man to be our judge beside the fact no other besides Jesus has died so we could be Saved? 1Samuel 16:7 Only God knows the heart… men only see the outward appearance. Man is not capable of judging the heart… only God and Jesus Christ at this time. When we reach the pinnacle of our Salvation then and only then will we have the wear with all to judge.
Ephesians 2:8; 1Timothy 4:14 Salvation is a gift.
Is there anything we have to do to receive the gift of Salvation? 2Corinthians 7:10 We should have godly sorrow to repentance. Romans 1:16 We should believe in the gospel. 1Peter 3:5; 2timothy 3:15 We should have Faith. 1Timothy 4:14 laying on of hands.
Now let's put it all together turn to Acts 2:38-39,41,44,47. Once we show commitment to God through baptism we receive the gift of Salvation (Holy Spirit). Revelations 3:5 Our names are written in the Book of Life. We are now Saved!! Our former affiliation did not like the word "Saved" because it was too Protestant but, the Protestants are correct in that point, we are Saved NOW!! Or we can also say we are Redeemed or Restored to God. Galatians 3:13; Revelations 5:9. This occurs immediately after baptism. We now have direct access to God. There is no man, church or organization that can intercede for us on our behalf… our intercessor is Jesus Christ. He is the one that made it possible for us to have direct access to God. Don’t give that up to any man.
Now Salvation is a Gift. We can not earn Salvation, but is work involved in sustaining our Salvation or is just believing in Christ enough? James 2:14-18; Titus 2:11-14.
I think this next scripture makes this point crystal clear Matthew 25:24-30. These who do not work to maintain their Salvation will lose it. Their names will be blotted from the Book of Life. Now this next scripture becomes more apropos turn to Philippians 2:12. It is up to us as individuals to work out our own Salvation. No one else can do this for us and no one else can take it from us unless we let them. We should never allow anyone to take control of our Salvation.
Why is working out our own Salvation so important? Hebrews 2:10. God wants us to become perfect.
Matthew 5:48. We are to overcome this present sinful world to become perfect. To mature as Christians, to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
What was God's message to the 7 churches of Revelation? To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on my throne, as I overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne. Overcoming is work! Working out your own Salvation with fear and trembling.
Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. Revelation 2:10 calls it a crown of Life.
Salvation is not Eternal Life but when our Salvation is complete it will lead us to Eternal Life. So let no man take your crown. Jesus Christ died so you may be Saved, so you could work out your own Salvation, so you could be part of His Kingdom.
And if we work at our Salvation and overcome as Jesus Christ overcame . And when it is all said and done we may go before Christ and hear him say:
Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.
